Shinugakure's Rise
Written by: Jacob Abela (Me)
Inspired by the series written by Masashi Kishimoto.
Chapter Two: A Bad Decision
Two years later...
The hidden village of Shinugakure has been running for a good two years unnoticed now. It has also expanded to the many great villages, and thanks to Nakatoro, they have hideouts in many unexpected spots, such as an underground cavern. Kenji however, he as become weary because of all the constant jabbering that comes from Lee and all the newer recruits.
Lee: "Yeah Kurai, we totally owned that shinobi. I like, 64 palms'd him then you got up in his face and BLAM! Earth pillar to the jaw!"
Kurai: "Yeah, it was epic dude!"
Kenji glares at them with increased anger but lets the yammering go on. As this does continue Kenji begins to think devious thoughts.
Kenji to himself: "Well, I killed Mareo and Jiro, my own brother, so, why not killed Lee. After all, I have put up with him for so many years, and Nakatoro, he pisses me off too. He is an old man and he thinks he is so much better then me, I should kill him as well. But...in good time, not today Kenji.."
So, Kenji lets the bickering and yammering continue throughout the room and heads off down a slide in the tree into his father's new "bunker" which lies underground. Nakatoro is already there though, waiting for him, his eyes have sacks beneath them and his hair is a mess.
Nakatoro: "I always wished to lead a village of people, I figured it would be the greatest thing ever," Nakatoro sighs.
Kenji: "Tell me about it," Kenji rolls his eyes and glares.
Nakatoro: "Lee Hyuuga..." Nakatoro sighs once more.
Kenji: "What about him?" He looks at his father hoping he is going to say what he thinks he is going to say.
Nakatoro: "For the past several years he has been a very trusting member who has shown great potential, as much as you if not more."
Kenji: "What are you getting at father?"
Nakatoro: "I don't know how to say this exactly.." Nakatoro sighs as he thinks it over for a minute or two. "I'm...demoting you Kenji, and sending you off to our hideout deep within Fire Country's forests..."
Kenji: His eyes widen. "Wha...what? Are you serious? You can't be serious, Lee is...a worthless fool! You can't demote me, your own son!" Kenji can't believe what is going on, it is too insane for him to take this in right now.
Nakatoro: "Kenji, my son, I am sorry, but this is the truth, I am sending you out there with two others tomorrow, Kurai and Kortai. You have tonight to pack, then, your out of here." Nakatoro looks down the whole time he speaks, feeling a bit bad about what he is doing right now.
Kenji: "Fine. I will be gone by tomorrow."
Nakatoro waves him off and tells him to get Kurai and Kortai down there as well. Then, Kenji whispers to himself.
Kenji: "I will be gone tomorrow old hag...but so will you.." Kenji walks away with a slight grin on his face and goes to get Kurai and Kortai.
