For those of you who were around a few weeks ago and heard me talking about my final, project, or "evil fraking program that won't compile", this is the end result of those few weeks and why I spent little time on NC. This is a game I developed for my OpenGL class as a final. It is not graphically enthralling like Final Fantasy 13 or hard to put down like Tony Stark and a vodka bottle but you get the drift.

Yes it is not graphically "wow" but it is a functioning game that works on about 75% of computers i've given a copy too. For some reason on random peoples computers it will not load giving an error though this was out of four comps and my firend's comp was really old so i don't know.
But this is a very simple plane/spaceship shooter where you scroll left to right destroying objects, in this case "crystals", as they drop down at you. To kick this up a notch I took an idea from a Xbox Live Arcade game I like called Ikaruga.
In my game you have two different weapons, or "Lasers", and you have to use the same color to destroy the same color crystal. White crystals are only destroyed by white lasers, green crystals with the green lasers. To increase the difficulty you can not fire both lasers at the same time and you have to swap fire buttons rapidly to shoot. This prevents you from holding down two buttons and spraying the entire screen with ease. Also not to make a game you can literally play forever I turned Aegion into a "how long can you last" game. As you destroy crystals they will start to spawn faster and move faster, I know the cut off where the speed increases I'll let you find out on your own. *evil laugh*
Anyways for those that have some spare time and would like to check out my second game, here you are. Save this to your desktop and extract it there. Once you've done that run the program Final_AHH.exe and your playing.
If you come across any possible glitches or errors please post them here so I can address them in my code. As I go through school I'm compiling a portfolio of games I've created to show my skills and any added troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.
Instructions:
"How long can you hold the line and destroy the crystals."
As you destroy crystals they gain speed as they drop.
At every 1000 points you gain a life.
If you are hit by a crystal you die, lose a life, and have to respawn.(This is very bad as I have not figure out how to stop the crystals from subracting from your life as you wait to respawn, do not get hit.)
If a crystal gets past you, you lose a life.
When you reach 0 lifes, the game is over and the game exits.
Keys:
A or "left arrow" key moves ship to left.
D or "right arrow" key moves ship to right.
C fires white lasers.
B fires green lasers.
